14383700_121206223000I am a huge advocate of skincare. After all beautiful skin starts with taking good care of your skin! A friend of mine suggested I try soaking in bath salts. I was 9 + months post pregnancy and still having back pain. Getting through a workout was difficult and definitely holding me back. So I went to the drugstore to find some cheap-o bath salts. I soaked in hot water every other day…and my back pain was no more. My mobility improved and I can finally get through a real workout without having to wince through the back pain.

The benefits of bath salts harvested from the Dead Sea have been shown to effectively treat and manage symptoms of osteoarthritis and tendinitis. Not only do they have incredible healing properties (if you get 100% sea salt) you are sure to have the smoothest, softest skin. You can even use them as a scrub or cleanser (just remember to add hot to mild-hot water).

After using the cheap-o salts for some time, I started to notice my skin was drying out. After research and sifting through reviews I finally came across a brand called Ahava. This is a truly unique brand of bath salts. Their salts contain rejuvenating minerals harvested direct from the Dead Sea. They also have face and mud masks I can’t wait to slather on. Allergy tested, paraben free, not tested on animals AND approved for sensitive skin. Its also a company that gives back, they work to preserve the environmental balance of the Dead Sea Region and provide Education for young people about the preservation of the Dead Sea. Bath Salts are a wonderful way to relax. Let’s face it ladies, with all the demands we have on us these days we need some pampering! Whether it be from work stress, travel fatigue, health issues and ailments, or refereeing a ninja-kicking fight your kids are engaged in. Because life stressors exist, I definitely recommend trying a nice hot salt soak in the tub. You’re going to be hooked.

Serene Seafoam

Did you know that color can evoke emotion?  In the staging world, Seafoam is probably my favorite color to use. It is serene and tranquil. According to “Color Wheel Pro”, blue represents all of these things…

Blue is the color of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven.

Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect. Blue is strongly associated with tranquility and calmness. In heraldry, blue is used to symbolize piety and sincerity.

You can use blue to promote products and services related to cleanliness (water purification filters, cleaning liquids, vodka), air and sky (airlines, airports, air conditioners), water and sea (sea voyages, mineral water). As opposed to emotionally warm colors like red, orange, and yellow; blue is linked to consciousness and intellect. Use blue to suggest precision when promoting high-tech products.

Blue is a masculine color; according to studies, it is highly accepted among males. Dark blue is associated with depth, expertise, and stability; it is a preferred color for corporate America.

Avoid using blue when promoting food and cooking, because blue suppresses appetite. When used together with warm colors like yellow or red, blue can create high-impact, vibrant designs; for example, blue-yellow-red is a perfect color scheme for a superhero.

Light blue is associated with health, healing, tranquility, understanding, and softness.
Dark blue represents knowledge, power, integrity, and seriousness.

Zella Interiors

Domino Magazine recently posted their top 26 design blogs and I have to admit that I am in love!  I started following a lot of them on Pinterest and squeal with delight when I see all the pretty interiors that I have to look at now.

I’m so inspired by all of these creative and crafty women.  Here are some of my personal favs:

emily

Emily Henderson.  Love her site and her style.  She’s a new mom to a cute little boy and oh so glamorous and girly.  I feel like since I’ve had my second baby boy that I want to surround myself with more girly things, just for me, so that I don’t get consumed by monster trucks, pirates (ahrrr!) and light sabers (not that there’s anything wrong with that, and I am the one that makes sure they are well versed in Star Wars).  Her style is…
